What people are saying

“I know Melissa to be extremely trustworthy, genuine and conscientious. She takes confidentiality very seriously and she is a true champion for the children in her care.”

— Gaynor Sbuttoni, Educational Psychologist

“Melissa has been absolutely wonderful with our son (8 years old) (and he does not take to just anyone!). He trusted her almost straight away and she understood him extremely quickly. He looks forward to his sessions and gets so much out of them. His confidence and self-esteem have grown and he is learning new skills to help him at school and his teachers have noticed a huge positive difference. I am so so happy we found you!”

“Melissa is a wonderful coach for young people. She has the magical ability to capture the attention of kids and teens and really connect with them. She ‘sees’ young people as unique individuals and brings out the best in each person she coaches. Melissa worked with my own daughter who has dyslexia and during her A levels , I am absolutely sure that Melissa’s unique approach helped her get through in one piece. I am delighted to have Melissa as one of our team at Luck’s Yard Clinic, she is a magician with young people.”

“Melissa has been amazing with our daughter. She is empathetic, kind and insightful; making a massive difference in a short period of time. Our daughter was struggling to cope with a number of health issues, grief and tricky relationships at school. Melissa instantly understood her and built rapport, so our daughter looked forward to the sessions and enjoyed the process of working on herself. Our daughter has so much more resilience, confidence and far less anxiety. Thank you so much for everything you’ve done, genuinely you’ve helped out in so many ways big and small.”

“Melissa worked with my daughter, age 12, for two years.   My daughter, though sceptical initially, soon warmed to Melissa and really looked forward to her sessions.  Her self-esteem was very low when she first met Melissa, due to a rocky transition into year 7 at senior school. With Melissa’s help, our daughter started to regain her confidence.  She is so much happier now, and her spark has returned.  She is confident, enjoys an active social life with school friends, is fully engaged in school activities, and comes on well academically.

I would highly recommend Melissa.  She is extremely knowledgeable as a coach and can really connect and communicate on a level to facilitate change from within my daughter.  She was also a good coach to us, as parents, so we were able to support the work the two of them were doing together.

I feel my daughter, with Melissa’s help and teachings over time, has a much better understanding of herself, is now able to experience joy in her life again, and has the resilience skills to better manage adversities in the future.”

“I’m happy and confident now.”

- EB, 13-Year-Old

“When we met Melissa, we were in a desperate state. My 7 year old son was extremely anxious and we had reached a point where we had to remove him from school. We were looking for a tutor to continue his learning, while we dealt with the psychological issues. What we found in Melissa was so much more than just a tutor. She reintroduced our son to a joy of learning, taught him to trust his teacher again and guided us through the process of preparing him to return to school. She worked hand in hand with my son’s therapist and also with the school when he was ready to return. Through the entire process she was an invaluable source of expert advice and support. We cannot thank her enough.”

“I just wanted to say I cannot thank you enough for your time and support today and of course last week. The impact you’ve had has not gone unnoticed. I have really struggled lately and have found myself constantly doubting my parenting abilities and decisions, resulting in me always planning for the possible triggers, which was/is really getting me down. To be honest, it’s exhausting, and I realised I couldn’t continue to live that way. However, after chatting with you last week and today, I have come away feeling more empowered and confident to face the daily challenges and not shy away from daily life, through fear of triggers. I cannot thank you enough, when our daughter started seeing you I expected to see support for her, but totally underestimated the support you could provide for me as a parent also. I feel there is a glimmer of hope once again that we can get through this.”

My daughter is a totally different girl now and it was so lovely to see her enjoy two playdates last week and another planned for this week.

“It has been so wonderful to see her confidence return and enjoying friendships again. Her school report gave comment from several teachers as to how well she has settled in and gets involved in school life which is wonderful to hear. Her grades have also improved and wonderful to see her independently spring out of bed in the mornings and eager to get to school. What a change from previous times!

I am sure she will take the wisdom of your words with her for the rest of her life’s journey and see her through difficult times with much greater resilience.”
